A new two‑part documentary, Cultivating a Culture of Creativity: Aziz Sancar, is now available on YouTube in Turkish (link). This two part film was developed by Prof. Tayfun Ozcelik in close collaboration with Nobel Laureate Prof. Aziz Sancar to inspire the next generation of scientists and innovators, particularly high school and university students by highlighting the perseverance, creativity, and civic responsibility that underpin world‑class science.
Part I – Scientific Journey & Institutional Legacy
- Chronicles Prof. Sancar’s breakthrough research on DNA repair.
- Recounts the founding of Bilkent University’s Department of Molecular Biology & Genetics, demonstrating how one vision can establish lasting scientific infrastructure.
Part II – The Anıtkabir Story
- Revisits Nobel Week 2015 and Prof. Sancar’s dedication of his Nobel Medal and Certificate to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his Comrades‑in‑Arms.
